Arbas Awards for Excellence

In 1995, Arizona Research Laboratories established the Edmund A. Arbas Awards for Excellence. These awards are part of the ARL Employee Recognition Program that is designed to recognize outstanding ARL employees whose consistently high standards and dedication help make ARL a leader in interdisciplinary science .

When are nominations accepted?
Early in the spring semester.

Who can be nominated for an Edmund A. Arbas Award of Excellence?
The following ARL employees are eligible:

  1. Eligible Classified Staff (those employees who have been actively employed for more than six months or who are on a flexible-year appointment and are regularly scheduled to work 20 hours or more per pay period)
  2. Appointed Personnel
  3. Non-tenure Track Faculty
  4. Student Employees
Previous recipients of the Edmund A. Arbas Award are eligible for nomination. Nominees do not have to be in the same division as the nominators.

Who can nominate an ARL eligible employee?
Any faculty, staff or student employee can nominate for this award.

What is the nomination process?
Nominations are submitted on-line using a web-based nomination form that is available during the spring semester nomination period.
